San Tiburcio Fiestas are held on 10th August, during which the traditional "Ingurutxo" dance can be seen. Carnival or "loteak" is celebrated on the 4th Sunday in January
Leitza is situated on the A-15 dual carriageway as it goes up the Uitzi pass. In Leitza there are around 2889 inhabits.
The church, la iglesia de San Miguel, built at the end of the 18th century, has a tower which was added onto the side at the end of the 19th century. The town hall (Casa Consistorial), is an important monument in Leitza and was built in 1915.
The hermitage, la ermita de Santa Cruz (recently restored), was reformed in the 19th century.
Rural sports, or "Herri Kirolak", are deep-rooted here, above all stone lifting, which is known as "harrijasotzaileak", woodcutting or "aizkolariak" and the game of “pelota”.
